About The Film
Synopsis: A group of humans interrogate a vampire.
A proof of concept horror short film that is somewhere between True Blood, Dexter, and Se7en, with a hint of Interview With A Vampire.
This short film was originally created for the Jakob Owens Horror Short Film Contest, 2024.
Rules of the contest included:
*Must utilize water
*Must include or reference a mythological / folklore creature
*Must include the line "I've never drank alcohol before."
A feature film based on this short is currently in development.
Director's Statement
Two different people looking at the same thing will see two completely different things. This is a fact of life.
With ET SPIRITUS SANCTI, I wanted to tell a story with two different sides. How you experience this film will depend on which side you see.
Are the vampires guilty or innocent?
If the vampires are guilty of abducting the missing children, then the humans are in the right for their actions. However, if the vampires are innocent and the humans assumed they were guilty simply because they are vampires, then thats a whole different story.
Which ever side you're on, the opposing side is demonized. That sounds a lot like the American political system to me.

The Writer / Director / Cinematographer / Editor
Thomas Tulak (Hook, Cheers) is known as Too Small, the youngest lost boy in Steven Spielberg's Hook.
His first feature film, WHO DUNT DUNT DUNNIT? premiered at Kevin Smith's inaugural SModcastle Film Festival in 2022, and is now streaming on Tubi.
Thomas is a staff editor, compositor, and cinematographer on the in-house video production team at Knott's Berry Farm. His short film, THÆRF won 'Best Sci-Fi Short Film' at the 2024 Silicon Beach Film Festival. His short film, STARS BEHIND THE CLOUDS won over a dozen awards from various film festivals in 2023.
Thomas studied film & video production at the Art Institute of California. His directorial credits include 1 feature film, over 20 short films, and three web series, one of which has over 300 episodes.
The Colorist
Chris Warren is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer who experiments thoroughly and pushes the limits with both modern technology and style.
He believes that building strong, collaborative relationships result in the best work. His work blends technological skill with a keen aesthetic eye and attention to artistic detail.
He has shot numerous features, shorts, music videos and commercials for clients such as PGA, Disney, Marvel, BMW, Allstate, Ebay and Patagonia.
